The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The bust has been broken and restored in several places. The majority of the surface of the bust is covered by a layer of later white paint disguising previous breaks and restorations. Visible firing cracks including the proper left jawline and to the reverse. The head and the shoulders made separately.
The gilt-bronze base is later with tarnished and rubbed areas.
The pedestal in Louis XVI style with nicks, surface scratches and later painting. Gilt-bronze elements of the flutes are missing. The gilt-bronze mounts of the pedestals are tarnished, especially to the lower part with traces of verdigris.
