In good overall conditon. With scattered age and construction cracks and some repairs, mainly around the joins between the back stiles and the crestrails and arms. The chair with a boy and a watering can has a small loss and a crack to the proper left front leg, would benefit from stabilizing. A crack to the same leg at the chair with the seated boy. The painted decoration overall with general marks, nicks, surface scratches, scattered chips, losses to carving and surfaces revealing bole and bare wood in areas as to be expected with age. The undersides with old upholstery webbing spanning between the undersides of the rails, making it difficult to examine their interior sides and the stamps, which are also made somewhat indistinct by the white paint layer. The upholstery is slightly dry, and now with splits, some loose threads, small reweaves and restitching. The backrest woven with a girl and a hoe has a patch (approx. 11 in. by 4 in.) near the top. Losses to all padding, most prominently to the proper left armrest of the chair with the girl and hoe. Presenting well overall.
