The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in good decorative order and ready to us. Some wear and flaking to gilding and enamels, surface scratching and minor abrasions and small glaze cracks throughout. Some pieces with more wear to enamels.
Three large oval two-handled soup-tureens and covers with pierced scroll-moulded bases – one cover with a spreading hairline crack from finial, stems to finial chipped and lacking, and a 3 cm. crescent shaped section broken and lacking to inner flange. One cover broken in two and restored, with small associated losses, and finial with stems broken and lacking. The third cover with broken in two and restored with metal rivets, with associated hairline crack and infilling 3 cm. section lacking to flange and a further smaller chip. There is also a small 1.5 cm. shallow chip to upper rim of cover and stems to finial chipped and lacking. One tureen with firing crack to foot, infilled presumably at the time of manufacture.
Four cushion-shaped dishes in two sizes – one larger with 4 cm. extended firing crack from rim, and loss to enamels below this point and some footrim chipping The other larger with footrim chipping. One smaller with crack from rim to centre of well, and another curling crack from rim, approximately 8 cm. long from corner. The other with 12 cm. long section broken out in two pieces to corner and restored with metal rivets. Both smaller examples with footrim chipping.
Three scallop-shell shaped dishes in sizes – the smallest with wear to gilt line rim, and small rim chip. The other smaller example with short firing crack from rim.
Six shaped trefoil dishes in sizes – two smaller examples broken into several pieces and restored (one with metal rivets), with some spreading cracks from breaks and small associated losses. Some footrim chipping to all.
Three small leaf-shaped dishes – chipping small losses to rim and footrims, one with short crack from rim.
Four circular dishes (26 cm. diameter) -- one with chip to footrim,
Four leaf-moulded dishes -- one with footrim chip, one with wear to gilt line rims.
Six large circular serving-dishes – scattered chipping and faint cracks.
Eleven serving-dishes in sizes -- two cracked almost the whole width across, one broken into several pieces and restuck, with associated losses and visible old and discoloured glue, one cracked to width of well and chipped to rim, one with short hairline crack to rim, one with a 10 cm. crescent shaped section broken in two pieces to the rim and restored with metal rivets, one with chip to footrim and surface wear, one with more significant surface scratching and wear (one of the two larger examples), the other larger example broken in two and restuck with metal rivets.
Seventy-seven larger plates (slight variations in sizes) – most with wear to enamels and gilding, surface scratching and chipping to footrims and scattered minute rim chips, one broken in two and restored with metal rivets, about ten with 1 cm. wide (approximately rim chip, about seven with spreading crack to well, six cracked across almost the whole diameter, one with rim chipping, one with two 6 cm. stained hairline cracks, one with a 4 cm. long section of rim chipping.
Thirty-four smaller plates (slight variations in sizes) – about 7 with rim chipping, one with long crack to well, two with a 5 cm. section of rim chipping, two broken into several pieces and restored, two with 5 cm. section broken to rim in two pieces and restuck, one with crack from rim to well, three with stained glaze cracks to underside.
