The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This attractive desk is in good condition overall.
There are the inevitable marks, chips and scratches consistent with age and use.
Marks, scratches and indentations to leather top panel, as to be expected with some rubbing to the gilt-tooled decoration.Small pieces of veneer missing to corners of crossbanding to either side of one long drawer and short drawer and to the left hand side of the opposing long drawer.
Four pieces of veneer missing to corners of top particularly to one corner where two 3in. of crossbanding to edge is missing with damage behind.
Some slight bubbling to some veneers on the top and friezes as well as some small losses and replacements. Scuff marks and knocks particularly to the lower parts and leading edges of the feet. Difference in colour of stretchers particularly to legs. Possibly of a later date but incorporating similar foliate mounts, probably original. Some drawers rather stiff on their runners, slight movement to brass edge so that it does not quite align at some angles.
