The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
CASE: Overall in 'country house' condition, the ormolu with the expected areas of tarnishing, discolouration and verdigris consistent with age and use. Case with replacement ungilt mount to back right side. The green-stained horn veneer with restorations throughout, however the colour remains vibrant and presents well under natural light.
The rear door replaced. The front glass cracked.
DIAL: The dial with several scratches and cracks, noticeably affecting the Roman numeral XII. Some fading to the enamel font, the '15' a replacement, and the '25' lacking, '60' damaged, '30' and '10' with chips. Chips about winding holes.
MOVEMENT: The movement with surface dirt and tarnishing overall. The strike train removed (together with the bell formerly mounted above the case). Requires a clean and service.
With two later winding keys, a pendulum.
