The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In overall fairly good condition.
There are the inevitable marks, chips and scratches consistent with age and use.
The orange upholstery is in good condition.
Chair A is entirely gilt with some losses to the gilding revealing the gesso and bole beneath.
There is a repaired break to the shell crest of chair A with a glued repair to both acanthus scrolls, there is also a small loss to the left harebell.
Chair A with a repaired break to either side of the stretcher and some minor chips and losses to the hoof feet.
Chair B with a small repaired break to the top of the right harebell to the cresting rail. There is a loss to the back of the back right foot. A repaired break to the left-hand side of the stretcher.
Very minor traces of historic apparently inactive woodworm.
Structurally sound and ready to place.
