Lot Essay
This rare gold pen knife was most likely a personal item of Emperor Nicholas II as it bears his monogram beneath the imperial crown. The pen knife is dated '1904', which was an important year in the life of Nicholas II and his wife Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. Their long-awaited son Tsesarevich Alexei was born on 12 August 1904.

Very good condition overall. One small diamond is missing from a leaf of the stylised flower. Minor surface scratching to gold and steel blades, consistent with age.
