Comprising a set of six fauteuils and a canapé, each with rectangular padded back, arms and seat covered in eighteenth-century Aubusson tapestries depicting scenes from the Fables de la Fontaine, framed by drapery swags and flowers, the arms issuing from fluted columns carved with chandelles and surmounted by ball finials, the supports carved with chutes des piastres, on turned fluted tapering legs terminating in toupie feet, four tapestry chair backs and the tapestry arm pads of a later date, the tapestry covers with reweaving and patching
The canapé: 4212 in. (108 cm.) high; 6812 in. (174 cm.) wide; 25 in. (63.5 cm.) deep
The fauteuils: 3712 in. (95 cm.) high; 2412 in. (62 cm.) wide; 21 in. (53 cm.) deep
