The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The overall condition is 'country house', but there are the inevitable dents, scratches and marks due to age and use. There are overall losses to the gilding revealing the gesso and wood underneath in some areas.
The suite is 19th Century, the tapestry covers are mainly Louis XVI, but four chair backs and the armpads are later. They have overall reweaving and patching, mainly to the beige outer areas. The animals have some small areas of restoration and restored splits. Some consistent losses to the gilding throughout, with areas of bole and timber visible beneath, the chairs would benefit from a light clean, the tapestry quite faded with dirt and dust as expected with age, and the covers would benefit from cleaning. Some minor shrinkage cracks, for example to the right arm terminal of one chair with the goats. The feet in particular with loses to the gilding. The sofa lacking a rosette to the inner right front leg.
