DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850), THE VASES DRILLED

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Each of the vases drilled to the underside of the base, through the underglaze blue seal. The drill holes with minute glaze slices, minor nicks and frits around the edge, probably from the metal lamp fitments. One vase with two hairline cracks at the shoulder of one corner join. The other vase with a small star crack and an associated nick to the glaze. Overall, the glaze on the vases with light crazing. One vase with traces of wear to the base corners, only visible upon close examination.
