Of traditional slightly elongated form, the exterior border decorated with plique-à-jour floral motifs within white enamel, centering an area of translucent red enamel over guilloché ground, the well of the kovsh enamelled in translucent yellow over an engraving of a stylised eagle, the handle decorated with varicolour cloisonné enamel on a gilt-stippled ground, on a slightly tapering foot champlevé enamelled in blue and turquoise, engraved with initials 'JM' under the handle, marked under base with 'Khlebnikov' in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant
