Have I described the decoation on the table top-correctly? I dont think it's a pie crust
The carving on the base is very nice and crisp.
The top is very faded and looks very red underneath.
Are the top and base actually born together? Or have they been put together. Are the bearers later?

- good evidence of the tilt-top mechanism being original, little bit of work done on the block, restorations etc...
- top is solid, the bearers look ok but have been taken off at some point. The pegs are later.
- Do a card search for this.
- Motif to the top is egg and dart.
- Paw foot and egg and dart motif is not common.
- Long edge to the block has been re-attached at some point.
- Spider round headed screws - good sign.
- Replaced spigot to the top of the column.
- Resotrations to the upper and lower surface of the birdcage.
- Swietenia mahogany.
