These wall-lights are adaptations after the celebrated model by Pierre-Philippe Thomire delivered to Marc-Antoine Thierry, baron de Ville d’Avray (1732–1792) head of the garde-meuble and later adapted for the bedroom of Louis XVI at the Chateau de Saint-Cloud in 1788.
