Oval box, the cover, sides and base enamelled in deep blue with star paillons on engine-turned reeded ground scattered with pellets within a white and pale blue frame, the rims enamelled in green and ochre with a foliate border and flowerhead, the cover later set with a miniature on ivory depicting St John the Baptist as a child in a diamond frame
