The canvas is relined it. The pigment layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has slightly yellowed with age. There is minor frame abrasion and an overall network of craquelure. Under natural light, touch-ups to address craquelure are visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned restorations and a few short lines of strengthening. The work can be hung in its present state and is offered with a simple giltwood frame. Please note that Christie’s does not guarantee the condition of frames.
