The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The lokapala is a bust and was originally a full figure; overall with the typical chips, nicks and losses; the painted surface with considerable degradation and losses, some areas later refreshed; with restorations to his proper left hand, to his armor at each elbow; the lower portion with a slice, possibly from where it was removed from the lower half of the figure; with scattered cracks; restuck portions to his flaring collar and one hair tendril restored.
Please note that based on the thermoluminescence test from Oxford Authentication (sample no.127r10), it is understood that this pottery was fired between 618-906 A.D.
