The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall with some minor scuffs and scratches consistent with age, use, and stacking, some wear to the gilding as well as to the engraving, some more than others, the spoons with some very minor wear to the edges of the bowls, the forks overall with some tines not quite straight and even and some wear to the ends of the tines, the fish forks with hollow handles, the knives all with hollow handles, the fish and dessert knives with silver blades, the table knives with two styles of French steel blades, the steel with some areas of rust and wear, some more than others, two with later replaced Sheffield stainless steel blades, one stainless blade loose, though secure, a few fish knife blades slightly separated from handle though secure and not loose, two dessert knife blades with some minor nicks to the edges, all with French maker's mark and hallmarks, stamped on the sides, steel blades, and silver blades MON ODIOT P.R. & CIE, as mentioned the nut picks associated and unmarked, with some very minor wear to the edges.
The two associated chests both with lift-up top and one drawer with brass pulls and brass handles to the sides, the larger with a key, the smaller lacking a key, both with some nicks, scuffs, and scratches to the exterior consistent with age and use, both lined with brown felt to the fitted interiors, both with some wear to the interiors, the drawer of the larger currently with the back off and the three other sides together but also separated from the base, and with one section of fitted slots off, though all parts retained.
