The coat-of-arms are those of Russell for John Russell, 6th Duke of Bedford (1766-1839), who succeeded his father in 1802. Other meat dishes from this service have been offered at Sotheby's, New York, 19 October 1995, and Bonham's, London, 5 July 2006, lot 201. Additionally, a pair of second course dishes from this service were offered at Sotheby's, Paris, 22 September 2010, lot 363.
