The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas supported on the reverse with a glue lining. The reverse also covered by a later fabric hindering inspection of the canvas. There is minor frame abrasion at the extreme edges. With minor surface soiling. The pigment layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has slightly yellowed. Inspected under ultraviolet light. There is minor touch ups to the edges to address the aforementioned frame abrasion. There are further scattered minor touch ups including to the horses at left.
