The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is not lined. The paint layer is stable and under a clear varnish. There is very minor surface soiling and frame abrasion to the extreme edges. There are few tiny pigment losses to the lower edge as a result of the aforementioned frame abrasion (not visible when framed). The impasto is well retained. The work has been inspected under ultraviolet light. There is no apparent inpainting. The work can be hung in its present state. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of frames.
