The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Each examined out of frame. Each canvas is not lined. Each with surface soiling, scattered minor pigment losses and frame abrasiont to the extreme edges. Each examined under ultraviolet. Each canvas presents with a milky green varnish. No apparent inpainting. Further condition noted below. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of frames.

Do not feed the bears:
The canvas is slightly slack on its stretcher and is tenting at lower center.

The catch:
The canvas is slack on its stretcher and is tenting, particularly at center and at upper right. With associated pigment losses.

On the dam:
The canvas is slightly slack on its stretcher.

No fishing:
The canvas is slack on its stretcher and is tenting. With pigment losses, particularly to the upper left quadrant. An abrasion with associated punctures at center left near the bear.

Tea time:
The canvas is slightly slack on its stretcher. Further scattered pigment losses to the upper corners.
