Christie’s New York is excited to present its Fall The Collector online auction, which includes a wide array of fine and decorative arts dating from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries from England, Europe, and beyond.

17th and 18th century century highlights of the sale include a selection of English furniture spanning from George I through the Regency period with pieces by foremost makers such as William Hallett and the Linnells, as well as works with outstanding provenance such as a set of chairs from Houghton Hall. European furniture is represented by a selection of Louis XV and XVI furniture, as well as ormolu-mounted objects and decorations, many executed by some of the most illustrious craftsmen of their time, such as Leleu, Jacob, and Roentgen. Our selection dating from the second half of the 19th century includes a Private Collection of Belle Epoque decorations including works by Ferdinand Barbedienne, Maison Baccarat, Henri Picard and Emmanuel Zwiener. For questions regarding nineteenth-century furniture and works of art, please contact Casey Rogers.

Included among the 19th century highlights of The Collector is a distinguished group of sporting sculpture and fine art from historic Tivoli Farm, Charlottesville, Virginia. This private collection of sporting art including bronzes by Henri-Alfred-Marie Jacquemart and Amory Coffins Simons, as well as pictures by John Nost Sartorius and John E. Ferneley, amongst others. Our ceramics department is delighted to offer Part II of a distinguished group of French porcelain from the Augustus Collection, dating predominantly from the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI, and including Sèvres pieces made for Louis XV, Madame du Barry and other members of the Bourbon court, as well as an incredibly rare Sèvres elephant vase. The auction also includes eighteenth-century German porcelains, nineteenth-century works by Meissen, Sèvres and Berlin, and examples of Renaissance Italian maiolica.
