Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good condition, structurally sound, and ready to place. With the expected scattered light nicks, faint marks and scratches. With some restorations to the stretchers and to the pierced brackets, consistent with age and use. One bracket slightly loose and may benefit from resecuring. With some sunfading, particularly to the arms. Each example with a repaired break to the left hand arm. With some evidence of old, inactive woodworm, not extensive. One example with an added support to the right rail for reinforcement. The upholstery well maintained and with light scattered stains consistent with use. The seat frames sprung and not examined in their entirety.
