The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Both tables in good conserved condition with beautiful figuring to satinwood ground tops beneath delicately painted surface decoration. Each with typical minor scattered losses to decoration, a few small areas of lifting to veneers and patches in some places. Signs of refreshment to decoration of base, particularly to frieze. Patches to veneers along cross-banding. Each with red wash to underside.
Table A: Losses to the painted decoration primarily on legs and around edges of frieze. Some lifting to veneers on the border of top and to the top. Some inpainting and well-matched repairs to the proper left center of the top. A few very minor cracks to top. Repair to proper left font leg. Scuffs, nicks, and losses to feet. A few small inactive wormholes to the back. The number 29 is stenciled to the central support strut underneath, and the roman numeral II is stenciled to the underside of the top. Very sturdy with only minor shrinkage to top.
Table B: Scattered minor losses and flaking to painted surfaces throughout, also most notably to the legs. Some lifting and repairs to veneers on top and border. Repair to proper right back leg. Roman numeral I stenciled to the underside twice. Nicks, scuffs, and tiny losses to feet. Remnants of a gold British Antique Dealers’ Association sticker to the back.
Table B is 303⁄4 in. high while table A is 31 in. high, the minor differences attributable to shrinkage.
