Count Dmitry Pavlovich Tatischev (1767-1845) was an influential Russian diplomat. Throughout his carreer he served at the courts of Naples, Spain, and the Netherlands before being deployed to Vienna in 1826 where he died in 1845. He was a passionate art collector and during his travels he purchased numerous works by artists such as van Eyck.
