The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Canape with doves and trumpet cresting: The seat rails in chestnut. With scattered age and construction cracks; not extensive. The lower rail of the back with an approx. 40 cm long crack; probably due to the natural aging of the timber. The bases of the fluted columns at the ends of the arm rests with cracks and losses to wood, probably from upholstery nails. Minor losses and abrasions to the carving, some restorations to cresting. Re-decorated, the paint now with some rubbing and light surface dirt. The upholstery with very light wear.
Canape with doves, torch and quiver cresting: The seat rail in chestnut. Approx. one (1) inch shorter than the other canape, whose height is included under dimensions. With scattered age and construction cracks; not extensive. The bases of the fluted columns at the ends of the arm rests with cracks and losses to wood, probably from upholstery nails. Minor losses and abrasions to the carving, some restorations, including cracks and old small breaks, to cresting. Re-decorated, the paint now with some rubbing and light surface dirt. The upholstery with very light wear. In good condition and ready to place.
