拍品專文

The design for this model was first introduced by John Wakelin and William Taylor circa 1787. Wakelin and Taylor entered into partnership in 1776 following their separate apprenticeships. This partnership lasted until 1792 at which point Wakelin joined Robert Garrard I, with whom he worked until 1805. It is likely through his father that Robert Garrard II acquired the designs for the this model.
A single example of this model with a clear glass liner by John Wakelin and Robert Garrard I, dated 1795, was sold at Christie's, London, 15 July 2020, lot 215.
