Overall in sound condition. With the expected scattered nicks, marks, scratches and abrasions, particularly to the legs, consistent with age and use. Each with evidence of old, now inactive woodworm. With lifting, cracking, and small losses to the veneer. Some of the chairs with some cracking to the reverse of the seat due to water damage, which could be helped with a re-waxing. With some variation in tone due to sunfading, most evident on the reverse of chairs, but presents well as a group. The upholstery with typical light scattered staining and some sunfading. Each with blue pencil mark underseat 10153.
Chair B: The underisde of the front right leg with additional screws for reinforcement of the knee, not visible when placed. With a loss to the lower edge of the front of the splat. With a split on either side of the splat where it meets the frame. With some minor old, now inactive, woodworm to the seat rail and underside. With scattered restoration and associated overpainting, now somewhat discolored. Also with some small restorations to the reverse of the top of the seat back.
Chair C: With considerable sunfading to the upper portion of the back of the chair. With old, now inactive, woodworm damage to the seat rail and underside, resulting in some small losses to the underside of the front rail. With some patches to the veneer along the seat rail. Two glue blocks replaced. With splits to etiher side of the splat where it meets the frame.
Chair D: With considerable sunfading to the upper portion of the back of the chair. With old, now inactive, woodworm damage to the seat rail and underside. With a loss to the veneer on the seat rail, approx 1/4 of an inch, and a loss to the veneer on the top left of the seat back, approximately 2 inches. With splits to etiher side of the splat where it meets the frame.
