The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Not examined out of frame. Minor frame abrasion to the extreme edges. Minor surface soiling and a few small scattered abrasions. Scattered fine lines of craquelure, notably to the right child's white shirt. Examined under ultraviolet light. The canvas presents with a milky green varnish. A few scattered short strokes of inpainting, including to the background and to each figure. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of frames.
