The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The website illustrations are accurate despite being too yellow.
There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches, shrinkage cracks and rubbing consistent with age and use.
There are some losses to the carving, especially to the upper part of one base.
Gilding :
As stated in the catalogue and visible on the illustrations, with fairly extensive losses to the gilding throughout revealing the white gesso and the bare wood underneath, especially to the frieze and the eagles' feet.
Black Painting :
There are some losses to the black painting of the base.
Marble : With some chips and minor losses especially to the edges.
As stated in the catalogue, the marbles have been restored.
- Console 1 : one crack restored approx 56 cm and another on approx 25 cm
- Console 2 : two cracks restored approx 56 cm, and one alongside approx 75 cm with paste filling
The left front corner as been restored. There is a loss to the left back corner.
