The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Good overall condition.
There are some minor dents, marks, scratches and shrinkage cracks consistent with age and use.
Japaned panels: some shrinkage cracks in some places especially to the front panel of one piece (long split). Some chips and rubbing as expected.
Veneer: some chips especially to the exposed areas and edges. Some minor restorations especially with 'gomme lacque' paste filling. Slight shrinkage and construction cracks in some places especially to the back uprights.
Mounts: gilding slightly tarnsished throughout with some black points as expected.
Marble tops: in good overall condition with some chips (some of them are more important than others).
Ready to place.
