Victor Boivin est le frère du célèbre joailler René Boivin qui sera formé dans son atelier avant de créer sa propre entreprise. Victor succéde à son père, l’orfèvre Jules Boivin (fl.1862-1881) ets'installe en 1897 dans l'Hôtel de Montmorency au 5 rue de Montmorency dans le Marais, le quartier des orfèvres.Sa Maison sera reprise par Ravinet d'Enfert.
