Andreas Ferdinand Spiegel (1797-1862) était un orfèvre spécialisé dans les tabatières et notamment les boîtes de présentation (A. von Solodkoff, Russian Gold and Silverwork 17th to 19th Century, Fribourg/New York, 1981, p.219). Il est récompensé lors de de la première Exposition des Arts Industriels Russes en 1829 et forme dans son atelier Gustav Fabergé, le père de Carl Fabergé.
