FRANÇAIS

Le tableau n'a pas fait l'objet d'un rentoilage mais a été doublé par une toile plus récente. La surface picturale a préservé de beaux empâtements.

A l'oeil nu, on constate un léger accident dans les feuillages, et une autre dans l'eau. Les marques du châssis sont visibles.

A l'UV, on constate des repeints dans la robe de la jeune fille et probablement également dans le paysage à droite.

Probablement dans son cadre d'origine en bois et stuc doré XIXe (approx. 180 x 107 cm.).


ENGLISH

The painting has not been relined but has been reinforced with a piece of canvas which is not glued to the original canvas. The paint surface preserves nice impasto.

We see to the naked eye a small tear in the leaves, and another in the water. The stretcher marks are visible.

There are restorations to the young girl's dress visible under UV light, and there are probably other restorations to the landscape on the right.

The painting is probably in its original 19th century gilt wood and stucco frame (approx. 180 x 107)
