The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The pile is full and thick throughout, resting well above the knot collar. The colours are strong and well saturated, and on the reverse there is a slight colour run affecting the green pigment in the tracery in the border. There are two small areas of blanket stitch in one of the central medallions, which measure 3 x 3cm. and 3 x 4cm. There is an area of cobbled repair in the opposite medallion which measures 7 x 4cm. There is a small reweave in the lower half of the field which measures 6 x 6cm. All four sides are overbound with thick wool selvages. Overall this carpet is in very good condition.
