The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in good decorative order with some glaze crazing and slight staining overall. Some wear to gilding (particularly at rims) and enamels throughout, slight surface scratching and stacking wear.
Two two-handled oval soup-tureens and covers -- one cover with a 15 cm. stained hairline crack from rim to centre and a small rim chip. One tureen with one handle restored, a 12 cm. hairline crack from rim to base and a 1 cm. hairline crack from rim, both mostly visible to the interior. The other cover with a 20 cm. crack from rim extending around part of the border (again, mostly visible to the interior) and some chipping to flange, the other tureen with one handle restored.
Three shaped square vegetable-tureens and one cover -- the cover broken in two and restuck with associated spreading 6 cm crack extending from break. Two tureens with significant wear to gilding at rims, one with a 5 cm. hairline crack from corner and associated infilled rim chip, the other with two spreading hairline cracks to width of base.
Two two-handled oval sauce-tureens, covers and three stands -- one tureen with 1.5 cm. rim chip and associated 5 cm. crack to side, one cover with small flat chip to underside of rim, one stand with three rim upper rim chips (approximately 1 cm. across).
A large oval serving-platter -- broken in two and rivetted to the reverse, gilding completely worn to rim.
Two smaller oval serving-platters -- one with heaving staining, one with gilding worn off to rim.
Two smaller oval serving-platters -- one with a 2 cm. flat rim chip. Both with wear to gilding at rims.
Three smaller oval serving-platters -- gilding completely worn to rims.
Twenty soup-plates -- one with 2 cm. flat chip to upper rim. six with star crack to base, one with 5 cm. stained hairline from rim, one with footrim chipping, two with star glaze crack to underside, one with a 1 cm. rim chip, one with seven cracks from rim to footrim (mostly visible to underside), a few with glaze crazing.
Forty dinner-plates -- seventeen circular plates by Copeland (several with glaze crazing or staining, four with stained spreading hairline cracks mostly visible to the underside, two with slight rim chipping), the rest of the plates probably by Coalport (three with stained hairline cracks to underside, one with footrim chipping, two with short 2 cm. hairline cracks from rim, six with some rim chipping).
