The original carpet has overall wear, and good colour saturation. There is an area of repiling which begins in the lower outer guard stripe and includes most of the lower border, which runs up to include part of the central field. There is a further rewoven area in the upper right hand corner and the lower right hand corner, however around 70% of the carpet is original. There is extensive repiling to the carpet, particular to the chocolate brown border, which has been executed in a heavy chain stitch on the back. There is an open vertical split in the lower rewoven border, which measures 15cm in length. The carpet has been selvaged on four sides.
