The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This attractive writing-table is is overall good condition.
There are the inevitable dents, marks, chips and scratches consistent with age and use.
The later leather lining to the top in good condition with some scratches as to be expected, faded to a light green.
The ratched reading surface in good order. The banding to top with shrinkage cracks, some infill and very small patching.
A square patch to the veneer at center of back of frieze.
The drawers are mahogany lined. The central and right hand drawers have been reinforced with canvas strips to the underside.
Two locks are slightly smaller than their notches, and are possibly replaced. Some shrinkage cracks to sides of drawers and areas of apron, with some infill. With two filled holes to the right side drawer front.
The stringing at the tops of the legs has been enhanced.
The back right leg with a repaired break to the top.
Traces of historic, apparently inactive woodworm to the underside.
Some chipped and replaced loss to stringing and some painted infill for example to the outset head of the front right leg.
