The shaped oblong stand and its four feet cast with scrolls and acanthus, applied to each side with monogram SI, supporting two inkwells with associated removable glass liners, the low domed covers chased with acanthus and with writing winged putti finials, and with a chamber candlestick with flower-form nozzle, the loop handle formed as a scrolling vine with leaves, engraved on the base with a crest and with detachable snuffer, marked throughout, the liners marked for William Bateman, London, 1835
