The body enamelled in translucent raspberry red over a wavy guilloché ground, centering a clock with white enamel dial, with a photograph frame underneath with an oval reeded bezel, enclosing a photograph of Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna (1854-1920), applied with two ribbon-tied and laurel-entwined thyrsi and two laurel-entwined caducae, surmounted by a silver-gilt ribbon crest and two pine cone finials, with a composite back and silver-gilt scroll strut, marked throughout
