The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The flatwoven surface is complete and largely stable, with a small number of horzontal splits conentrated at edge of the rug and along natural seams, which need resecuring. The largest of these measures 9cm in length. The colours are well saturated throughout, with no evidence of fading when the face is contrasted with the reverse. There are a small number of light grey surface marks in the ivory field, though these are not significant in size and might improve with professional cleaning. There are a small number of pink stains on the back, some of which are faintly visible on the face. The sides are folded over and secured with a cross stitch. The overall condition is very good.
