The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In very good overall condition, with the inevitable minor nicks, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.
As stated in the cataloguing the case has been re-gilt. The ormolu with some minor casting flaws and tarnish.
The pierced grill appears original and is slightly loose in places.
A few areas of small repaired breaks, most notably to the scrolling acanthus leaves and decorative flowers on top left and right sides.
The backplate is later.
