The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
These attractive chairs are in country house condition.
There is evidence of historic, apparently inactive woodworm to the timbers throughout to both chairs.
There is separation to the joints throughout
Chair A:
The front left leg has been reinforced with a metal brace and has a replaced block. Both front legs also have restored breaks just below the elbow.
The back left leg has a spliced repair approximately 6 in. long.
The central back leg has a restored break to the top and various infilled repairs.
The back right leg also has areas of infill.
Chair B:
Each of the legs with various infill, most likely carried out as a result of woodworm damage.
With two later blocks.
Both chairs with steel tips to the base of the legs.
The upholstery is in good condition overall with minor wear. Chair B lacking a few nails to the right hand side as a result the fabric has become slightly loose.
Structurally sound and ready to use.
