The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The pile is full and thick throughout each carpet with a soft texture and slight sheen. The colours are well saturated throughout. The wool is wonderfully lustrous and has a very silky quality. The floral motifs across the two carpets, in the medallions, spandrels and borders are relief-cut giving an attractive effect across the carpets. The larger carpet has a pale green surface mark in the field, 17 x 12cm. at its widest extent, which has not penetrated through to the back. The smaller has some coloured green ink stains in the left hand side of the field, which have penetrated through to the back. The selvages are original. The ends are secure and terminate with white fringes.
