CASE: the leaf-wrapped scroll handle above the silk-backed domed basket top, the moulded border with four sphere finials, the glazed front with mask escutcheon and false escutcheon, the glazed sides with crown and cherub relief panels, glazed rear door, the moulded foot raised on bun feet;
DIAL: the 7 inch brass dial plate with winged cherub head spandrels, strike / no strike ('N / S') above 'XII', the matted centre with ringed winding holes and mock pendulum aperture, the silvered chapter ring with Roman hours, Arabic five minutes and sword-hilt half-hour markers, signed to the chapter ring 'Daniel Quare, London';
MOVEMENT: the plates joined by seven ringed pillars, the twin fusée movement with reconverted verge escapement, hour strike to bell and quarter-repeating to a nest of four bells, the backplate profusely engraved with flower-heads and foliage, signed to a cartouche 'Daniel Quare / London', three blued steel case brackets
