The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The English giltwood stool with the George I legs has typical scattered chips and losses to the gilding, revealing gesso and bole in areas, but overall in good appearance and ready to use. The black-and-gilt japanned stool lacks upholstery as stated in cataloguing and shown in images. It will need to be upholstered prior to use. It has an old repaired break to frame and some inactive old wormholes and scattered rubbing and losses to surface decoration. Lovely form and great potential.
