The rectangular white marble top with pierced gallery, above two cupboard doors flanked by columns, over a frieze-drawer enclosing a green leather writing surface and four drawers, on columnar supports and a shaped undertier, the underside stamped CHLES WINCKELSEN/21 Rue St Louis/(AU MARAIS), the rectangular top and upper section removed to reveal a further stamp and date 1864
