拍品專文

The present lot is modeled after four dishes by Martin-Guillaume Biennais dated 1809-1814 which are now in the collection of the Louvre, Paris (Acc. No. OA 9696). These dishes were part of a larger supper service commissioned by Napoleon as an official gift to Jean Bernadotte (1763-1844), marshal of France and later King Charles XIV John of Sweden. An identical example by Puiforcat was sold from the collection of Mrs. Patricia M. Kluge, Christie's, New York, 22 October 2009, lot 52.
