The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in good condition, decorative and ready to place. Presents well as a group. With scattered nicks, surface scratches and 'nibbles' to extreme edges, as to be expected with use.
The lidded tazze: 121⁄2 in. high, in. wide, 7 in. deep
- With natural inclusions, including deep red veining to the marble. With scattered light nicks and 'nibbles' to extreme edges. One of the griffin supports separating slightly from the bowl but secure, not readily noticeable.
The scalloped tazza on stand: 9 in. high, 61⁄4 in. diameter
- With natural inclusions, including deep red veining to the marble. With scattered light nicks and 'nibbles' to extreme edges. The well of the tazza with two repaired cracks associated infill and overpainting, now somewhat discolored. The dish off from the stem and reattached, and with some adhesive residue. The stem with a repair and with subsequent infilled repair now somewhat discolored. With a buildup of surface dirt in the crevices.
The beast form burner: 81⁄2 in. high, 81⁄2 in. wide, 41⁄2 in. deep
- With natural inclusions, including deep red veining to the marble. With scattered light nicks and 'nibbles' to extreme edges, including a very small shallow chip to scalloped bowl. The beast off and reattached. With staining to interior of scalloped well from ink from use. Bowl slightly loose on stand but secure.
The inkwell: 51⁄2 in. high, 9 in. wide, 23⁄4 in. deep
- The finial on the lid replaced in composite material. With a very small chip to the top of one of the paw feet, not visible when placed. With natural inclusions, including deep brown veining to the marble. With scattered light nicks and 'nibbles' to extreme edges.
The snake paperweight: 11⁄2 in. high, 51⁄4 in. wide, 3 in. deep
- With natural inclusions, including mottling and grey variations to the tone of marble. With scattered light nicks and 'nibbles' to extreme edges. With a small patch repair to the lower edge on one side. The other side with a shallow surface chip and small loss. The snake with some restoration and associated overpainting, now somewhat of a different color, not readily visible. The underside with adhesive shipping sticker.
