The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in good decorative condition and ready to place. The marble with natural inclusions. With scattered light surface wear, some small nicks and 'nibbles' to extreme edges. The temples with some scattered minor restorations and stabilizations. Present well overall.
Temple of Castor and Pollux: 141⁄8 in. high, 65⁄8 in. wide, 21⁄2 in. deep
- With a repaired break across one side of the temple base, and with associated infilled repair and adhesive residue. The capitals with some adhesive residue to the underside, the central capital separating very slightly. With a further repaired chip to the corner of the upper pediment and a repaired crack with some associated overpaint.
Temple of Vespasian and Titus: 141⁄4 in. high, 47⁄8 in. wide, 43⁄4 in. deep
- With a restoration and associated infilled repair to the corner of the upper portion of the temple. Each of the capitals reattached and with some very minor glue residue. Some of the protruding decoration on the capitals lacking. With a small repaired break to the base of one column. With some slight separation at joins but secure. With a light build up of surface dirt along the base.
White classical column: 141⁄2 in. high, 41⁄2 in. square
- With some adhesive residue to the stepped base, and a slight buildup of surface dirt. Two of the corners on top of base with small losses. The body of the column with some further small nicks and 'nibbles'.
Classical column with bronze figure: 133⁄4 in. high, 5 in. square
- With some minor nicks and 'nibbles' to corners, and some small shallow surface cracks to the stepped base. With a light build up of surface dirt. The capital with some adhesive residue to underside. The bronze figure with some light rubbing.
