The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Each not examined out of frame; overall with minor surface soiling, fading and mat staining; some with scattered pinpoints of foxing and areas of water staining, mostly consolidated to the edges; with minor undulation to each sheet. Further condition noted below.
1. The largest: measuring 153⁄4 x 241⁄2 in. (sight); inscribed ERUZIONE DEL VESUVIO DELL ANNO 1834 lower edge; areas of water staining to the lower and upper right edges.
2. 131⁄4 x 181⁄4 (sight); inscribed ERUZIONE DEL VESUVIO DEL 1839 lower edge; water staining to the upper left quadrant; a few scattered areas of skimming and minor abrasion to the sheet, including at the upper left edge.
3. 13 x 18 in. (sight); inscribed ERUZIONE DE' 27. XBRE. 1831. and further inscribed and numbered M. Mauntonstrada S. Carlo No. 32. lower edge; some creasing to the sheet and areas of water staining in the sky.
4. 121⁄2 x 181⁄2 in. (sight); signed and indistinctly dated Sa Piza 18[35] lower right; a repaired tear to the lower left corner and areas of water staining in the sky.
5. 12 x 16 in. (sight); inscribed Eruzione del 1835. lower edge; surface soiling, scattered foxing and areas of water staining in the sky
6. The smallest: 7 x 9 in. (sight); with old label Envzione del 1845 on reverse; some foxing and pinpoints of pigment loss in the smoke above the volcano.
